A Sweet Adventure in Nutrition – WIC Nutrition Therapist Training

About the Training

WIC Service is excited to bring you an Intensive Nutrition Therapist Training, “A Sweet Adventure in Nutrition!” This 3-day event will be held May 6-8, 2025, at the Artesian Hotel in Sulphur, OK. Registration will begin at 11:00am on May 6 with sessions beginning at noon. The training will end at 12:30 on Thursday, May 8 to allow for travel time.

This training is a Golden Opportunity for nutrition therapists to expand their knowledge on fantastical topics such as weight loss drugs, infant formulas, iron/zinc deficiency, autoimmunity, menopause and communicating with WIC participants.

This training is REQUIRED for all OSDH WIC Nutritionists.


Lodging:

  • The designated hotel for the Nutrition Therapist Training is the Artesian Hotel. The conference rate for nutritionists attending this training is $110/night plus taxes and fees.
  • OSDH WIC Nutritionists: WIC will cover travel expenses for OSDH nutritionists who provide WIC services. Lodging for OSDH WIC nutritionists that qualify to stay overnight will be paid for via direct bill. An OSDH WIC nutritionist is eligible for overnight travel status when the destination/object of travel is over 60 miles away from their duty station. If you qualify for lodging with OSDH WIC, check “yes” on the lodging question when registering. OU CPM will add you to the reservation list and send you confirmation 1-2 weeks prior to event.
  • Non-WIC/Non-OSDH WIC Nutritionists: When you register, OU CPM will add you to the list of Non-WIC/Non-OSDH nutritionists and send you confirmation 1-2 weeks prior to the training. You will be responsible for paying your hotel bill at the conference.

Food:

  • WIC will provide an afternoon snack on days 1 & 2, and a morning snack on days 2 & 3.
  • The hotel has a small restaurant and café that can serve a limited number of guests. Multiple restaurants are nearby for your breakfast, lunch and dinner needs.
