Drug Overdose Data Dashboard
This dashboard displays the most recent information on fatal and nonfatal drug overdoses in Oklahoma. Information includes counts, rates, proportions, trends, and demographic information.
Death data include unintentional fatal drug overdoses that occurred in Oklahoma. Out of state residents who died in Oklahoma and Oklahoma residents who died in another state are excluded.
Discharge data include nonfatal drug overdose hospital discharges of all intents (intentional self-harm, unintentional, and undetermined). Out of state residents who were hospitalized in Oklahoma and Oklahoma residents who were hospitalized in another state are excluded.
When hovering over a county on the map, the tooltip displays county name, number of deaths or hospitalizations, and death or hospitalization rates. Rates are calculated for 5 or more deaths and 10 or more discharges. Data are suppressed for <5 deaths and <10 discharges to prevent identification of individuals and are indicated with an asterisk (*). Some rates are based on a small number of cases and should be interpreted with caution.
Rates are expressed per 100,000 population. The population (denominator) data used to compute rates were produced by the U.S Census Bureau and were obtained from CDC WONDER. The rates have not been adjusted for age.
