The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has advised the Holliday Outt Mobile Home Park, located in Oklahoma County, to inform users of its drinking water to not ingest the water. The water is not to be used for consumption, food preparation, preparing baby formula, brushing teeth, or making ice. The water may be used for handwashing, bathing, and flushing toilets. It is recommended that consumers use bottled water or water from another source. This order was issued due to possible contamination related to a recent wildfire and heat damage to drinking water equipment.
Even if water system service is restored, do not ingest the water until further notice. Water service may be restored before testing is completed to confirm the absence of contamination following the wildfire. If you have specific health concerns about this situation, please contact your doctor. This advisory will remain in effect until further notice. DEQ does not have an estimated time for repairs to the system to be complete.
This was an isolated event and only affects Holliday Outt Mobile Home Park. It does not affect the rest of Oklahoma County.
Impacted customers will be notified when the water is considered safe for human consumption. Federal law requires that consumers be notified when a public water supply exceeds certain maximum contaminant levels and might be harmful to the health of consumers.
