The Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has required Rogers Co. RWD #3 COT STA (OK3006650), located in Rogers County, to inform users of its drinking water to use water that has been brought to a full, rolling boil for at least one minute, bottled water, or water from another acceptable source for consumption, use in food preparation, dishwashing and brushing teeth. This order was issued due to E. coli in the drinking water.
This order only applies to those customers of Rogers Co. RWD #3 supplied by water from its consecutive connection to the City of Tulsa, covering an area east of Owasso, bounded on the North by HWY 20. Please see the map below showing the affected service areas.
The following water system purchases water from Rogers RWD # 3 COT STA, and is therefore also under the mandatory boil order:
- Rogers Co. RWD # 12
Users will be notified when the water is considered safe for human consumption. Federal law requires that consumers be notified when a public water supply exceeds certain maximum contaminant levels and might be harmful to the health of consumers.
