The Oklahoma Uniform Building Code Commission has adopted the 2023 National Electrical Code (NEC), which will take effect on September 14, 2024.
Electrical Testing Grace Period
There will be a 90 day grace period for National Electrical Code questions on licensing tests. During this period, any test questions related to the NEC will reference the 2020 NEC until December 13, 2024. After this date, all test questions will be based on the 2023 NEC.
Test takers may use either the 2020 NEC book or the 2023 NEC book for the test.
