Well Driller & Pump Installer Advisory Council
Established by the State Legislature in 2001, the Well Drillers and Pump Installers (WDPI) Advisory Council is charged with the following responsibilities:
- Developing rules to comply with standards that govern water, monitoring, and heat exchange well drilling activities in Oklahoma;
- Promoting professional well construction and minimizing potential avenues for surface and subsurface contaminants to pollute groundwater;
- Promoting education of the state's drillers and pump contractors through scheduled workshops and related meetings; and
- Directing the expenditure of funds from the WDPI Remedial Indemnity Fund, an account earmarked for remediation of contaminated sites, inspections, licensing, enforcement, and education.
