Teacher Education Literacy Collaborative (TELC)
The Teacher Education Literacy Collaborative (TELC) is a voluntary community of practice led by OEQA that connects higher education faculty and literacy leaders across Oklahoma. TELC provides a supportive space to explore policy updates under the Oklahoma Strong Readers Act, exchange evidence-based instructional strategies, and align teacher candidate preparation with statewide early literacy priorities, including Teacher Academies, K–3 Screener selection and data, and High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM).
While TELC maintains faculty representation from accredited Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) across the state, EPP leadership is encouraged to contact OEQA annually with updates to their literacy faculty rosters. Deans, chairs, and directors are also asked to encourage their faculty to actively participate in TELC collaborative sessions to stay current on evolving state literacy opportunities, resources, and policy changes.
