Certification
Teachers seeking licensure in Oklahoma must pass two types of assessments:
1. subject-area assessment
2. performance assessment
Subject-area assessments
Teachers may choose one of the following formats for the subject-area assessment:
- Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) - facilitated by Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE), or
- Praxis Subject Area Tests – facilitated by the Oklahoma State Department of Education
Performance Assessments
The Praxis Performance Area Test (PPAT) is the primary performance assessment for teacher candidates.
