Candidates must pass an assessment that evaluates their knowledge in their specific teaching field. Oklahoma accepts:

  • Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) – Facilitated by Certification Examinations for Oklahoma Educators (CEOE).

2. Pedagogical Assessment

To demonstrate teaching skills and instructional knowledge, candidates must complete the:

  • Assessment of Professional Knowledge (APK) – Available beginning June 3, 2025. This is the primary assessment for new candidates.
