Accreditation

Twenty-one Oklahoma institutions of higher education are dedicated to developing exemplary teacher candidates through their teacher preparation programs, blending the art and science of teaching. Aligned with the rigorous accreditation standards set forth by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP), these Educator Preparation Providers (EPPs) undergo thorough oversight by OEQA, encompassing both national and state reviews.

At the heart of this accreditation and review process lies a commitment to continuous improvement. Each EPP ensures that its programs, tailored to specific education content areas, adhere to national standards while fostering teacher candidates’ proficiency in assessments and instructional practices among undergraduate and graduate students. OEQA evaluates and approves programs based on their quality and their impact on both pre-service and in-service educators. Moreover, every EPP submits annual reports furnishing data that substantiates their progress and continuous improvement.
