About the transportation sector

Transportation agencies work to develop safe and efficient transportation infrastructure across the state. This includes roads, bridges, highways, public transit systems, aviation and waterways to facilitate the movement of people and goods throughout Oklahoma.

Current projects and supplier needs

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) has the following projects and supplier needs:

  • Transportation infrastructure construction:
    • Grade, drain, surface and bridge on SH-7 in Atoka County.
    • Grade, drain, surface and bridge on SH-32 in Love County.
    • I-44/US-75 interchange in Tulsa County.
    • Statewide increase in contract suppliers to underserved areas, including road and bridge contractors, traffic control, sod, trucking, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete suppliers.
  • Seasonal contracts: Mowing, herbicide and litter removal, as well as snow and ice removal needed on a seasonal basis.
  • Professional services: Engineering and surveying services are needed at the US-75/I-44 Interchange in Tulsa County and US-81 Realignment in Grady County.
  • Technology projects:
    • Upgrade the agency Roadway Management System.
    • Ensure contract compliance in the bidder/quoter process.
    • Migrate Oracle servers to the cloud.
  • Equipment needs: Safety and construction equipment are needed for Transportation workers.
  • Safety projects: Signal equipment and wrong-way detection equipment is needed for safety measures on agency construction projects.
  • Vertical construction maintenance: New construction services, as well as remodeling and repair services for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, roofing and overhead doors are needed for agency buildings.
  • Transit buses: Statewide rolling stock for various subrecipients.

Program spotlight

Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) program

ODOT is responsible for DBE certification for the State of Oklahoma. This program provides meaningful participation opportunities on federal projects for minority- and women-owned businesses. Suppliers that fall into these categories are eligible to apply for DBE certification.
