Oklahoma’s Chuck Gray Elected Chair of National Workforce Board Association
Oklahoma’s leadership in workforce development earns national recognition
Oklahoma City, OK — Chuck Gray, Chair of Oklahoma’s Governor's Council for Workforce and Economic Development, has been elected by his peers to serve a two-year term as Chair of the National Association of State Workforce Board Chairs. This prestigious role, in part through the National Governor’s Association (NGA), places Gray at the forefront of shaping national workforce strategies, as states across the country look to Oklahoma for innovation and leadership.
Oklahoma is currently undergoing a bold workforce transformation. The state is rethinking how and where services are delivered to better meet the evolving needs of employers and job seekers. This forward-thinking approach has captured national attention, positioning Oklahoma as a blueprint for workforce development success.
“Oklahoma is not just keeping pace, we’re setting the bar,” said Trae Rahill, CEO of the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission (OESC), which operates the Governor’s Council. “Chuck Gray’s election is a testament to the incredible work being done in our state. As Chair of the National Association, Gray will guide collaboration between state workforce boards, share best practices, and help shape national priorities that support workforce readiness, economic mobility, and employer engagement.

State Rep. Brian Hill of Mustang, is a member of the Council, and has been at the forefront of Oklahoma’s workforce transformation.
