Library Fellow, Special Collections and University Archives

UCO, Chambers Library / Edmond

Job Description:  Chambers Library at the University of Central Oklahoma is seeking an early career archival professional to serve as a Library Fellow in Special Collections and University Archives. The Fellow position is a permanent full-time position. In this role, you will work collaboratively with the Special Collections and University Archives staff to assist with a variety of projects and tasks—from providing research assistance to processing archival collections and developing finding aids within the library’s archival content management system. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a collaborative environment, has a strong grasp of archival best practices, and is a recent graduate or near graduate in an ALA accredited Library Information Studies or archives program. A bachelor’s degree and 4+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience, are required. A background in academic libraries, experience processing manuscript collections, and experience with an archival management system are a plus. This position is a full-time, hourly position, with an hourly rate of $21.63, which translates to $45,000/year. Access Manager I (Full-time)

Job Description: Under the direction of the Library Manager or Assistant Library Manager, the Access Manager I provides leadership and direction for Library Aide staff. Assumes responsibility for issuing and receiving library materials, issuing library cards, providing information about library accounts and services, locating books and other materials for customers, assisting with self-service equipment and technology, and providing information about library programs. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED; and Five or more years of library experience working directly with customers. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and Two or more years of library experience working directly with customers. Licenses and Certifications: Valid State Driver's License Current Motor Vehicle Insurance Acceptable Driving Record HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES: Experience with a library automated circulation system. Familiarity with collection maintenance software. High level of comfort with computing, online databases, office productivity software and emergent technologies.

Collection Development Technician (Part-time)

Research and Medical Education Librarian

Job Description:  Research and Medical Education Librarian. Reports to: Senior Director of Library and Information Services. FLSA Classification: Exempt. Location: Bentonville, Arkansas (On-site). Who We Are: Founded in 2021, Alice L. Walton School of Medicine (AWSOM) is a nonprofit, four-year MD program that enhances traditional medical education with the arts, humanities, and whole health principles. The school’s culture embraces self-care to empower students to care for their own well-being as well as their patients’. The school’s state-of-the-art medical education facility is in Bentonville, Arkansas, on the Crystal Bridges campus, home to Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art and Heartland Whole Health Institute. The school has been granted preliminary accreditation status by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education. About the Position: Under the direction of the Senior Director of Library and Information Services, the Research and Medical Education Librarian plays a pivotal role in supporting the academic and research mission of the institution. This position combines instructional expertise with research support to empower students, faculty, and staff in their information-seeking endeavors. The librarian will develop and deliver information literacy instruction, provide in-depth research assistance, and collaborate with campus partners to enhance information services. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Support clinical faculty and affiliates through instruction, attending clinically relevant forums, and visiting clinical sites. Cultivate and sustain collaborative relationships with faculty, students, researchers, and staff in support of campus teaching, learning, and research. Collaborate with library, university, and hospital personnel on projects including grants, papers, poster presentations, research projects, or other creative undertakings. Design and present creative and practical instructional sessions and library outreach. Instruction would be expected to occur in person and online, in settings such as classes, workshops, webinars, and one-on-one and small-group meetings. Provide support with systematic reviews, expert searches, research consultations, meta-analyses, and other evidence synthesis projects. Keep current with trends in medicine and library services, and implement new services to provide research support for the School of Medicine. Build and maintain library support materials, including library guides, videos, Canvas course pages, discussion boards, chat service, and reference materials. Provide expert advice and support for students, faculty, and staff in using citation management tools, evidence synthesis tools, and supporting evidence-based practice. Demonstrate professional development and service through presentations, publications, and/or active membership in professional organizations. Some early evenings and occasional weekend library reference services as needed during key times of the year. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications and Requirements: Master’s degree from an American Library Association–accredited program, required. Minimum of two years of experience in academic, medical, or health sciences libraries, required. Experience providing instructional support to professional programs, required. Strong service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills, required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse academic community, required. Additional coursework or degree in health sciences, education, instructional design, informatics, or a related discipline, preferred. Proficiency in conducting large-scale literature reviews, including scoping and systematic reviews, preferred. Evidence of innovation in promoting library services, resource utilization, and educational programming for medical students, faculty, and staff, preferred. Library Director

Library Center of the Ozarks / Branson, MO

Job Description:  The five-member Library Center of the Ozarks Board of Trustees seeks an innovative and proven community-building leader as its next Library Director. In 2023, voters in the county’s subdistrict approved a tax levy to transition the 90-year-old privately funded Taneyhills Library to the newly-established Library Center of the Ozarks—the district’s first publicly-funded community library. The Library Center of the Ozarks currently operates a standalone 18,561 square foot location with a cohesive team of 11 full-time equivalents, serving the residents of the Branson and Hollister school subdistricts. This is a unique opportunity to continue growing a newer public library system from the ground up—building the team and cultivating community relationships. The new Library Director will be a connector, consensus builder, and communicator, capable of translating the value and vision of the library’s future as a vibrant community asset, with the potential for library service expansion in the region. Key initiatives include bolstering community partnerships, creating an inaugural strategic plan, and leading planning for new facilities that will adequately address the needs of a growing and diverse population. Responsibilities: The ideal candidate will be responsible for short- and long-term planning and directing, and coordinating all activities of the library system, including finance, personnel, programs and services, collection development, facilities, equipment, government and community relations, and public relations. This position will provide fiscal management, prepare budgets, and oversee operational expenses; hire personnel; develop and recommend policies to the Board of Trustees; ensure proper communication of library happenings to staff and community; and collaboratively consult with the board, the staff, and key stakeholders in planning for the library’s future. This individual will file reports as required by the Missouri State Library for library certification and compliance; oversee the facilities' maintenance and repair; promote the Library of the Ozarks to community organizations, business partners, county commissioners, local government officials, the Missouri State Library, and professional library associations.
