Data

The Oklahoma Highway Safety Office (OHSO) utilizes a data-driven approach to fulfill its mission of establishing and maintaining safe roadways for all road users. OHSO produces publications and problem identification data, including in-depth analyses of crash numbers, rates and locations, which many highway safety professionals use to evaluate traffic safety priority areas across the state and to propose potential solutions.

OHSO gathers data from various sources, including:

  • Motor Vehicle Crash Reports
  • Motor Vehicle Citations
  • Driver's License Records
  • Motor Vehicle Registration Records
  • Breath Test Analysis Reports
  • Attitude and Awareness Surveys
  • Occupant Protection Surveys
  • Fatality Analysis Reporting System
  • Department of Transportation

OHSO collaborates with many partner agencies to inform the planning and development of its highway safety programs. In addition to our law enforcement and education partners, this information is also available to media personnel, researchers, legislators and the concerned citizens who travel on our roadways every day.
