ODMHSAS closes on hospital purchase, establishes Oklahoma City Behavioral Health Campus (OKCBHC)
The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) today closed on its purchase of the former SSM Health facility in southwest Oklahoma City, establishing the Oklahoma City Behavioral Health Campus (OKCBHC).
“The Oklahoma City Behavioral Health Campus is a game-changer for this agency,” said Interim Commissioner Greg Slavonic. “This milestone moves us closer to increasing centralized, inpatient bed capacity for our great state.”
Renovation of the Annex, which will provide capacity for 32 inpatient beds, is expected to be completed by March. Patients from Griffin Memorial Hospital will begin transitioning to the new facility thereafter.
Additional renovation phases in the main hospital building will continue throughout 2026, with hospital operations transitioning in stages as upgrades are completed. When the main hospital opens it will be called the Oklahoma City Behavioral Health Hospital.
