Commissioner Brian Bingman

J. Brian Bingman was sworn in to his first term as Corporation Commissioner on January 13, 2025.

A Sapulpa, Oklahoma native, Bingman worked in the oil and gas business for his entire career. First called to public service as a City Commissioner and later Mayor of his hometown of Sapulpa, Bingman was later elected to the State House of Representatives and State Senate. In 2011 he was chosen by his caucus to serve as Senate President Pro Tempore where he served until term limited in 2016, setting the record for the longest serving Republican President Pro Temp in state history. In October 2020, Governor Kevin Stitt appointed Bingman as Oklahoma Secretary of State and Oklahoma Secretary of Native American Affairs in October. He served in that role until  September 2023 when he resigned to run for Oklahoma Corporation Commissioner.

Bingman and his wife Paula reside in Sapulpa and are members of First Presbyterian Church. They have three children and six grandchildren. He holds a Petroleum Land Management degree from the University of Oklahoma and is a citizen of the Muscogee Nation.
