Read Across Oklahoma, the state’s premiere literacy event for preschool and early grade children, was held April 11th at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden. The 2023 event featured the book That is a Hat by author and illustrator Betty Selakovich Casey. The day started off with a book giveaway for the first 1,500 kids. Attendees were invited to participate in a variety of interactive edu-tainment stations positioned around the zoo. The featured author read and performed for students at the Elephant Pavilion.

It all comes together to help encourage preschoolers and early grade schoolers to love reading... and animals. Watch it with your little ones and enjoy!
