Licensing Window Information: Please be advised that our licensing windows are now located on the first floor. The hours of operation are as follows: Thursdays: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.  Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays: 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. We accept payments via check, money order, and most major credit cards. We do not accept cash under any circumstances.

Fire Sprinkler Trainee License

A Fire Sprinkler Trainee is an individual employed by a licensed fire sprinkler company to assist fire sprinkler technicians or managers and learn to properly install and service fire sprinkler systems.

Holding a Fire Sprinkler Trainee license means you are considered a trainee in the Fire Sprinkler category only.

Requirements:

  • MUST be employed by a licensed Fire Sprinkler company and work with a currently licensed Technician or Manager.

  • No testing required.

  • Must submit fingerprints for an OSBI background check.

  • Provide two forms of acceptable ID.

  • Completed Application form

  • Completed Affidavit of Lawful Presence form.

Fees:

  • New application: $20.00

  • Renewal: $15.00

  • Expired license renewal: Double the standard fee.

  • Replacement license: $25.00

  • Note: The expiration date of the license will not change upon renewal or replacement.

Temporary License: A 90-day temporary Trainee License can be issued if the applicant provides:

  • A recent ‘quick check’ from the last 30 days, covering every state they have resided in during the past ten (10) years.

  • AND an OSBI criminal history report, even if they do not reside in Oklahoma.

Issuance: The license will be issued once the applicant has a photo taken, IDs verified, and background check results are received.

*All individuals making an initial application will need to submit a current passport photo or appear in person at ODOL or an approved process site to have their photo taken.
