Storage and sharing of personally identifiable data
The Oklahoma Department of Labor (ODOL) may collect personally identifiable data during the course of executing its statutorily mandated duties. This data can include, but is not limited to:
- Name
- Birth date
- Place of birth
- Biometric records (fingerprints)
- Social Security number
- Official state- or government-issued driver license or identification number
- Alien registration number
- Government passport number
- Employer or taxpayer identification number
- Check drafts
- Paystubs
- Copies of IRS Form W2 or 1099
- Certificates and examination results
- Photographs
- Medical, financial, or employment information
All collected data is stored electronically on a secure server operated by the Office of Management and Enterprise Services. Fingerprint cards, however, are forwarded to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and are not retained by ODOL.
Rest assured, personally identifiable data collected by ODOL is kept confidential, except where disclosure is required by the Oklahoma Open Records Act (51 O.S. § 24A.1 et seq.). Social Security numbers included in any record are specifically protected; they are redacted or deleted before the record is released, as per 51 O.S. § 24A.5.
