For A-Line TDS, safety is more than a requirement — it is part of how the company operates every day.
Based in Tonkawa, Oklahoma, A-Line TDS specializes in the environmentally responsible dismantling and disposal of transformers for utility companies, energy providers and industrial clients. The nature of the work requires constant attention to detail and a strong commitment to safe and compliant practices.
From the beginning, owners Brad and Pete Stroh made safety a top priority. They looked for opportunities to strengthen the company’s safety program and connected with industry networks and safety-focused organizations. Through those efforts, they learned about the Oklahoma Department of Labor OSHA On-Site Consultation Program.
In 2022, A-Line TDS completed its first consultation with the program.
Following that consultation, the company took additional steps to strengthen its safety culture. One of those changes was introducing open forums during daily safety meetings, giving employees the opportunity to share concerns, ideas and observations.
The change increased employee participation and helped make safety a shared responsibility across the company.
Over time, A-Line TDS saw significant results. Near misses decreased, and the company experienced no recordable incidents during high-risk tasks such as transformer dismantling. Employee participation in daily safety discussions increased, while fewer injuries and improved equipment efficiency helped create cost savings.
The company also saw improvements in morale and team cohesion as employees saw that safety remained a priority.
After several years of working with OSHA Consultation, A-Line TDS achieved Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program, or SHARP, status in 2025.
SHARP recognizes small and medium-sized businesses that have used OSHA On-Site Consultation Program services and operate exemplary workplace safety and health programs.
For A-Line TDS, the partnership with OSHA Consultation helped validate the company’s safety-first approach while providing guidance to continue improving its processes.
Safety became a shared value throughout the company, supported by leadership and employees alike. That commitment continues to protect workers while strengthening A-Line TDS’s reputation for safe and compliant operations.
