BLACKOUT PERIOD: Please note the commission will not accept complaints that allege a candidate or a candidate committee violated the ethics rules during an election cycle. Transparency and ethics are the key to making state government work for everyone. When government actions are open and clear, people can see what’s happening and make sure their leaders are doing the right thing. Good ethics help stop corruption and ensure decisions are made fairly, not just for personal benefit. By being honest and straightforward, state officials build trust and make sure that everyone has a say in how resources are utilized. In short, transparency and ethics keep the government accountable and responsive, making sure it truly serves the people.
