Employment vs. Unemployment

April 2025: Oklahoma's unemployment rate down to a seasonally adjusted 3.2 percent while nonfarm payroll employment added 2,900 jobs (0.2 percent) over the month.

State Unemployment Rates

In April, unemployment rates were higher in 3 states and the District of Columbia, lower in 2 states, and stable in 45 states, including Oklahoma.

County Unemployment Rates

March 2025: Jobless rates in March were lower than a year earlier in 44 counties, higher in 19 counties, and unchanged in 14 counties.

Job Openings vs. Unemployment

March 2025: Oklahoma's number of job openings and the number of unemployed persons little changed over the month.

Job openings rates decreased in 3 states, and were little changed in 47 states, including Oklahoma and the District of Columbia in March.

Oklahoma’s job openings rate decreased 0.2 percentage point to 4.9 percent in March. Over the month, the national job openings rate decreased 0.2 percentage point to 4.3 percent.

Job openings data was gathered from the Bureau of Labor Statistics Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey (JOLTS) and unemployment data from Local Area Unemployment Statistics (LAUS).
