Listed below are asset class returns as of last fiscal year-end. Each asset class return is compared with their respective benchmarks. Actual returns are net of investment expenses.

It is important to note that the portfolio value does not affect TRS members’ earned benefit amount. TRS members are due their benefits regardless of portfolio performance.

The long-term goal is to achieve the actuarial assumed rate of return, currently 7.00%, net of all investment expenses. Below is a chart of the annual total returns over the last five years. Furthermore, below is a bar graph that compares our average annual returns with the total fund’s benchmarks over 1yr, 3yr, 5yr, 10yr, and 20yr returns of the TRS system.
