Office of Inspector General
What We Do
Agents in the Office of Inspector General (OIG) Investigations unit are commisioned law enforcement officers who investigate criminal misconduct of public assistance programs administered by Oklahoma Human Services. This includes alleged fraud or misuse of SNAP food benefits, TANF assistance funds, child care subsidy, and energy assistance programs. Agents also serve and execute bench warrants and other court orders in administrative or judicial proceedings involving Oklahoma Human Services.
OIG conducts internal financial reviews and audits to ensure agency programs are compliant with state and federal law.
OIG conducts thousands of background checks each year on licensed child care providers, foster and adoptive families, trial reunifications, guardianships and all Oklahoma Human Services staff.
