Could you or a loved one benefit from a meal or nutritional information?

Healthy meals are cooked and served in a congregate (group) setting at local sites such as senior centers, community centers, schools, and adult day centers. The program also provides older adults 60 years or older with opportunities to meet others and to volunteer. A Registered Dietitian plans and reviews meals following the most recent national dietary guidelines.

Home-delivered meals are provided to an eligible person at their place of residence. A Registered Dietitian plans and reviews meals following the most recent national dietary guidelines.  Depending on your situation, one of the following programs may assist with your needs. 

Older Americans Act

Qualify by meeting one of the following:

  • Individuals aged 60+,
  • a family caregiver for someone 60+, or
  • a person with a disability living with someone 60+

*There are no income eligibility requirements.

ADvantage

Qualify by meeting three criteria:

  • Age:
    • 65+, including individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities,
    • 21-64 with physical or other disabilities without cognitive impairment,
  • Requires medical care (such as what you would receive in a nursing home)
  • Limited Income and Resources

Personal Care Attendants can help prepare meals in the home of eligible participants through the Home and Community-based ADvantage Waiver program or the State Plan Personal Care program

Contact your Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) to consult a Registered Dietician for advice related to chronic illness, using certain medications, and the benefits of healthy eating and physical fitness.  These services are provided to participants, caregivers, or both in a group or individual setting.

Oral Nutritional Supplements (such as nutrient rich ready-to-drink liquids) can be provided for eligible participants through the Home and Community-based ADvantage Waiver program
