What You'll Need
- Proof of who you are.
Have one: birth certificate, driver’s license, pay stub, voter ID card, school records, or U.S. passport. - Proof of what you earn (IF YOU HAVE A JOB)
Pay stubs from last 30 days, a note from your employer, or last year’s tax return if self-employed. - Social Security numbers
For everyone in your home who wants benefits. The number alone is fine; you don’t need the card. - Other money (IF THIS APPLIES)
Other benefit checks or award letters, child support or alimony records, or a court order showing the amount. - Citizenship Documents (IF NOT A U.S. CITIZEN)
A document that shows your lawful citizenship status. - Medical, shelter, utilities, child care, and child support expenses (OPTIONAL)

What Happens Next
1. Complete Your Interview
After you apply, call or visit us to complete your interview. Make sure you uploaded all required documents before your interview. You can check your application status at any time at https://okdhslive.org.
2. Receive Your decision
Applications are completed within 30 days, often sooner. We’ll mail you a Notice of Action letter that says if you’re approved, how much you’ll get, and when it starts. If you’re not approved, it explains why.
You may also get a letter from us that says you need to upload more information. It is important to check your mail and upload all required documents.
3. Get Your EBT Card
Your SNAP benefit loads onto a card you use like a debit card at most grocery stores.

Basic Eligibility
To be eligible for SNAP, you must meet the following basic requirements:
- U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen
- Meet work requirements (unemployed adults, ages 18 to 53)
- Meet income standard(s)
- Provide Social Security numbers for all members included in the household
