Tips for your new EBT Card

The EBT Card is your permanent card. Do not throw away.

Your EBT Card is designed for multiple uses. Money will reload onto your card each time it is available. Please keep the card even if your benefits or services expire. You will use the same card again if you receive benefits or services in the future.

Effective March 1, 2024, we have a new process for printing EBT cards in-office:

  • New clients who have never previously been issued a card for SNAP benefits
  • Child Care clients (new or replacement cards)
  • For all others, see “How do I get a new EBT card?” below.

To easily manage your card, use the Connect EBT Client Portal or mobile app for Apple or Android devices.

The Connect EBT Client Portal is a website that can be accessed by your internet browser. The Connect EBT mobile app is available for both Apple and Android devices.

The portal and app require you to create a profile to register your EBT Card. A profile requires your:

  • Social Security Number
  • Date of Birth
  • 16 Digit EBT Card Number

When you sign up on the portal, you can:

  • Create PINs for your benefits.
  • Ask for a new EBT Card if yours is lost or stolen.
  • Check your benefit balances.
  • See your benefit transactions.

Every benefit or service you get requires a PIN (Personal Identification Number) for you to access. If you receive more than one benefit, like SNAP and Child Care, you must assign a PIN to each of them. You may assign the same PIN to each of your services.

Soft PINs are four-digit numbers that are easy to figure out, like 1-2-3-4, 1-1-1-1, 1-0-1-0, and 4-3-2-1. Although they are easy to remember, they are also easy to steal. Set a PIN that only you will know.
