Community Living, Aging and Protective Services
What We Do
Community Living, Aging and Protective Services (CAP) fosters strong relationships with community partners to empower vulnerable adults, support their independence, enhance their quality of life, and ensure person-centered planning and service delivery throughout their lives.
CAP serves Oklahomans by:
- Investigating allegations of elder abuse, neglect and exploitation.
- Increasing options for older adults to live safely and independently at home.
- Providing support for family caregivers.
- Increasing job opportunities for aging adults.
- Providing resources for families living with HIV/AIDS.
Aging Our Way Oklahoma
"Aging Our Way Oklahoma" is a robust 10-year plan to enhance the quality of aging in Oklahoma. This collaborative endeavor is spearheaded by CAP in partnership with other state agencies, tribal nations and private sector partners. The plan is supported by trained community ambassadors who share the progress and opportunities of the plan.
"Aging Our Way Oklahoma” prioritizes 10 focus areas with specific goals to meet the diverse needs of aging populations in rural, suburban and urban areas of our state. The objective is to expand and improve access to vital services for aging Oklahomans, including wellness, transportation, social connections and caregiver support services.
