Child Welfare Services

What We Do

Child Welfare Services staff are dedicated to safeguarding the wellbeing of children each day and we remain committed to fostering hope and providing support to families by expanding our community partnerships to build stronger, more resilient families.

We wholeheartedly advocate for initiatives to secure nurturing environments for every child including meaningful connections with their communities and heritage.

We diligently strive to uphold every child's fundamental right to thrive within a stable, affectionate family and to access essential services vital for their growth and development.

Pinnacle Plan Progress

Our ultimate goal is to offer more robust support systems at an earlier stage in the lives of families. Oklahoma Human Services is committed to improvement efforts even after monitoring through the Pinnacle Plan has concluded. The agency continues working with our sister agencies and community partners to develop mental health resources and other supportive services families need for lifelong success. The agency remains committed to ongoing transparency regarding our foster care system transformation. Efforts are underway to develop a data sharing dashboard so the public may continue to follow the state’s progress in creating a child and family wellbeing network to help meet the needs of all families. To learn more about our progress, visit our Pinnacle Plan website.

Foster families play a vital role in the child welfare system, offering a safe place for children while their families work to improve safety concerns. For more information about becoming a foster parent, visit https://okfosters.org/ or call 1-800-376-9729.
