Oklahoma Welcomes 4 New National Board-Certified Teachers (NBCTs)
The Office of Educational Quality and Accountability (OEQA) is thrilled to announce that the following Oklahoma educators have earned their National Board Certification this year:
- Thea Anderson - Literacy: Reading-Language Arts/Early and Middle Childhood, Bartlesville Independent School District
- Chelsea Cruse - Social Studies-History/Adolescence and Young Adulthood, Woodward Public Schools
- Kaila Goode - Literacy: Reading-Language Arts/Early and Middle Childhood, Jenks Public Schools
- Illanna Spicer – English Language Arts/ Adolescence and Young Adulthood, Woodward Public Schools
This prestigious certification represents a significant milestone in the careers of these exceptional educators and highlights their unwavering commitment to excellence in education. By achieving National Board Certification, these teachers have demonstrated exceptional knowledge in their subject areas, along with a strong dedication to fostering positive learning environments for their students and communities.
National Board Certification is an advanced credential that surpasses state licensure requirements. Administered by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS), the certification process is rigorous and peer reviewed. Teachers must provide evidence of their positive impact on student learning, meeting the highest standards of teaching excellence.
