OEQA Launches Statewide Resource to Support Educator Preparation Pathways
To help address Oklahoma’s ongoing teacher shortage, strengthen the educator pipeline, and make it easier for individuals on non-traditional pathways to become certified, the Oklahoma Office of Educational Quality and Accountability (OEQA) has developed a new online resource in response to requests from school districts and certification candidates. The Educator Preparation Pathways webpage provides a centralized overview of programs offered by Oklahoma universities to support both non-traditional and traditional pathways to teacher certification. It helps users identify the programs they need to progress toward full licensure, improving access and supporting local efforts to grow the educator workforce.
The webpage organizes programs by state aligned pathways: traditional, paraprofessional, alternative, and emergency preparation. This structure allows district leaders, career professionals, and candidates to quickly find programs that meet certification goals. By bringing university offerings together in one place, the resource helps reduce barriers, support informed decisions, and strengthen Oklahoma’s teacher workforce.
