Oklahoma Corporation Commission Unveils New Petroleum Storage Tank Data Finder

Wednesday, March 12, 2025

The Oklahoma Corporation Commission’s Petroleum Storage Tank Division has published a new tool to its web page to help environmental firms and the public locate both above and below ground tanks across the state.

The OCC PST Data Finder is an interactive Geographic Information System (GIS) App that maps active, inactive and temporarily closed petroleum storage tanks in Oklahoma. Visitors can find a specific location through the App’s search function or review an area, county, or town by clicking on the map and zooming directly to a point of interest. Results are first symbolized by PST Facility location and as the user zooms to individual locations the tank information is populated.

This new tool, available at no cost, is part of the agency’s ongoing effort to improve transparency and to share information directly with the public.

Of particular use to environmental firms conducting site work related to project development or construction for primarily commercial applications, the app will permit the user to download information directly from the data tables. Users can also upload their own spatial data and information specific to a site and visualize it in the app during an active session. User uploaded data is not persistent and will disappear when the app is refreshed. Plats of Facilities and layers can be exported to a pdf and saved for offline use.

The PST Data Finder App provides the user with exact coordinates and permits the user to choose a base map from topographic to streets to imagery and more.

A user can choose different layers to display including locations of releases and the associated facility. The filter feature permits the user to further define the parameters of a search.

The PST Data Finder App currently tracks registered active and inactive petroleum storage tanks. The information is updated nightly to provide users with the most accurate, up-to-date information available.

View the PST Finder App or access the App Manual.
