Today, we had the opportunity to participate in the Build My Future OKC event, a one-day Construction Career Day designed to inspire high school students across the state. This exciting event encourages young people to explore professional careers in skilled trades while raising awareness about opportunities in the construction industry.
Students from various Central Oklahoma schools spent hours engaging in interactive, hands-on activities provided by industry partners. They explored educational displays, operated real equipment, and participated in learning experiences aimed at showing them what a future career in the trades could look like.
Our OSHA consultants, Jason Hudson and Erica Nolan, were on-site demonstrating some of the vital tools they use during their inspections. Students were able to see and even try out equipment such as thermal cameras, personal noise dosimeters, PPE, and even drones—all essential components in ensuring safety on construction sites.
By giving students this hands-on experience, we hope to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals who will build and sustain Oklahoma's future. We're proud to support such an important initiative and look forward to seeing the bright futures of today's students in the skilled trades!
