Programs
Am I Hungry?
This program is an eight-week course that teaches you how to eat the food you love without overindulging or feeling guilty. Learn to take charge of your diet instead of feeling out of control.
The workshop tools enable you to eat healthier without depriving yourself so you can eat fearlessly and mindfully!
Sessions are conducted twice a year, one in January and July. Sessions are from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. over the lunch hour. Thrive covers the cost of the curriculum books.
Break Time
Research shows that working for extended times without breaks can lead to stress and exhaustion, which is why it is important to have “movement breaks” which refresh the mind, reboots the brain, and helps you become more creative.
“Break Time” occurs every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. These 15-minute sessions include desk stretches and relaxation breathing techniques.
StressStop
This program is a free tool for all state employees. With busy employee schedules in mind, the program is designed for convenience. Using the program for just five minutes a day can lead to increased productivity and reduced stress, and new program offerings are as short as two minutes for a quick, easy session. Included are a variety of stress-reduction techniques, such as meditation, mindfulness practice, deep breathing exercises, visualization methods and stress reduction strategies with 30-day programs, that take only minutes per day.
State Employee Walking Club
Research shows the association between exercise and our physical health, and the latest studies emphasize the connection to our brain health. Since the pandemic, many have lost motivation to exercise, so the purpose of starting a walking club is to get people to encourage each other by walking together. The program will include different challenges throughout the year and meetups at different locations, for those who want to join a group walk. We have provided many locations to walk across the state and we will continue to add more as we find them. Everyone who signs up will be sent information and resources to help them get started, even if you are a beginner.
Let’s dream big to get as many state employees as we can moving and improving our well-being.
