License Renewal Begins May 1, 2022

Monday, April 25, 2022

Oklahoma City, Monday, April 25, 2022 — The online Osteopathic License Renewal system will open May 1, 2022.  All Osteopathic Licenses are set to expire June 30 of each year.  The purpose of this email is to give you the information you will need for the renewal process.

Before you begin, please have the relevant CME, proper prescribing course information, and payment method available.  Then, you will click the link below to be directed to the Licensee Login page.  If you have not accessed the system previously, you will need to click "New to this site? Activate Now".  The email used for activation must be the email address this message was sent to.  The system will send you a temporary password and prompt you to set up your security questions and permanent password.  If you have previously created an account, you will log in with your email and existing password.

Be aware, if you enter the incorrect password three (3) times, your account will be locked.  This will require a phone call to our office during normal business hours.  To avoid your account locking, consider resetting your password after two (2) incorrect attempts. Once you are in the system and making your way through the renewal, please verify your information is correct and up to date.

Online Database

The Osteopathic Board launched a new licensure database, Thentia, in December of 2020.  The system was designed to make licensure, renewal, and various business processes easier on our physicians.  Below are a few quick notes about options and features.

  • During your renewal, you will be required to enter your place of practice(s) if you do not currently have one listed.  Please note: If you list your home address or cell phone number in your place of practice record, that information will be available to the public through our physician search.  This data is not shared when provided in other sections of the renewal.
  • Please read each Professional Standards Question carefully and provide a detailed answer along with any relevant documentation to any "Yes" answer.
  • If Dispensing Permits are requested, they will be available in your place of practice records.  You can request one for each location you dispense and log medication at.  These permits are $50.00 per location.  You can request these in your dashboard any time of the year as well as renewal.
  • Once your renewal is approved, your updated license certificate and wallet card will be available in PDF format.  These are listed under "Certificate and Pocket Card Download" on the left-hand side of your dashboard.
  • Receipt of payment is also available on the left-hand side of your dashboard under "Invoices & Receipts".

CME Information

By completing your renewal online, you certify that you earned a minimum of sixteen (16) Category 1 CME hours between 7/1/2021 and 6/30/2022.  If you hold an Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs (OBNDD) or Oklahoma DEA registration, one (1) hour of Proper Prescribing credit obtained between 07/01/2021 and 06/30/2022, that has received prior approval by the Osteopathic Board, is required and will count toward the total required sixteen (16) hours of CME.  Out-of-State DOs are exempt from Proper Prescribing if they do not possess an OBNDD or Oklahoma DEA Registration. Residents and Fellows are exempt from CME and Proper Prescribing credits. It is your responsibility to maintain a file that will verify your compliance with CME rules in the event the Board chooses to audit your CME credit.  However, you are now able to upload CME certifications if you choose.

Please Note: You will not be allowed to complete your renewal before the June 30 deadline if you have not received the required CME hours.  If you plan to receive your CME July 1- August 31 you must wait until July 1 or after to renew your license with the addition of a $150.00 late fee.
