Jimmy J. Williams

Jimmy J. Williams, CPA/PFS, CFP, is the CEO/President of Compass Capital Management, LLC, a registered investment adviser and wealth management firm with offices in Tulsa and McAlester, Oklahoma. His primary responsibilities are providing coordinated financial planning services specializing in retirement planning and distribution strategies. 

Williams serves as the chairman of the American Institute of CPAs’ National Accreditation Commission. He has served the AICPA as a board member and member of many senior committees. He is a past chairman of the Oklahoma Society of CPAs and currently serves as chairman of the Bylaws Committee. 

Williams is an author and teaches advanced financial planning techniques and ethics for the AICPA and the CPA societies of Iowa, Montana, Texas, Florida, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and Oklahoma.

Williams is often sought as an expert on financial planning matters for The Oklahoman, The Planner newsletter, CPAFocus magazine, N Common Magazine for Women and the McAlester News-Capital. He is an author of many technical tax and investment treatises as well as the author and speaker for his own podcast, "Live a Life by Design." 

Williams has served as an editorial adviser to The Tax Adviser and the Journal of Financial Planning. He was appointed by Gov. Frank Keating to serve a term on the Oklahoma Tobacco Settlement Endowment Trust Board of Investors. 

Most recently he wrote an article for the Journal of Accountancy titled "Help small businesses choose the right employee retirement plans." Williams authors a column, "INVEST IN YOURSELF," for the McAlester News-Capital newspaper. He was recognized by CPA Magazine as one of the "Top 40 CPAs to Know in a Recession."
