Key Functionality: Only agencies with a verifiable U.S. federal, state, or local government e-mail address may register for a account to create shortened URLs (website addresses). Security Notice:

  • Because of an increase in spamming using .gov URLs (link opens in a new window) allegedly related to the collaboration between and bitly to generate shortened .gov URLs, the Office of Management and Enterprise Services (OMES) Information Services (IS) is discouraging agencies from using bitly for shortened URL creation (Added: 10/22/2012)
