January GRF collections meet monthly and YTD estimates

Tuesday, February 10, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY – General Revenue Fund (GRF) collections in January 2026 totaled $838.7 million, which is $11.9 million, or 1.4%, above the monthly estimate. This total is also $37.5 million, or 4.3%, below collections from January 2025.

GRF collections for the first seven months of fiscal year 2026 stand at $4.9 billion. This is $247 million, or 5.3%, above the year-to-date estimate and $48.5 million, or 1%, above collections from the same period in FY 2025.

The State Board of Equalization (BOE) will meet this Friday, Feb. 13, and certify updated estimates for FY 2027, which will set the Legislature's appropriation authority for the 2026 legislative session. The February 2026 BOE packet will also include updated projections for the remainder of FY 2026. This packet will be available on the OMES website following the Friday BOE meeting.

“Oklahoma’s general revenue numbers remain steady and on track overall,” said OMES Director Mark Wood. “January came in slightly above the estimate, and year-to-date collections are running more than 5% above projections, even with normal fluctuations in income and gross production taxes from month to month.

"Strong sales and use tax collections and higher interest earnings continue to help offset underperformance in other areas. Friday's BOE meeting will give us updated estimates for the rest of FY 2026 and the upcoming budget year.”

January 2026 revenue tables are available on the OMES website.

As state government’s main operating fund, the GRF is the key indicator of state government’s fiscal status and the predominant funding source for the annual appropriated state budget. GRF collections are revenues that remain for the appropriated state budget after rebates, refunds and other mandatory apportionments, and after sales and use taxes are remitted back to municipalities. In contrast, gross collections, reported by the state treasurer, are all revenues remitted to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
