February GRF collections exceed monthly and YTD estimates

Tuesday, March 10, 2026

OKLAHOMA CITY – General Revenue Fund (GRF) collections in February 2026 totaled $476.7 million, which is $49.4 million, or 11.6%, above the monthly estimate. This total is also $13.9 million, or 3%, above collections from February 2025.

GRF collections for the first eight months of fiscal year 2026 stand at $5.4 billion. This is $296.4 million, or 5.8%, above the year-to-date estimate and $62.4 million, or 1.2%, above collections from the same period in FY 2025.

"February collections exceeded the monthly estimate by more than 10% due to higher-than-expected performance in all categories, including gross production tax from oil and gas," said OMES Director Mark Wood. "We're also ahead of last year's levels, indicating Oklahoma's economy remains strong. With the GRF's continued alignment with State Board of Equalization projections, we expect a positive close to the state's current fiscal year."

The State Board of Equalization (BOE) met last month and certified updated estimates for FY 2027, which set the Legislature's total authorized budget for the 2026 legislative session at $12.2 billion. The February 2026 BOE packet also included updated projections for the remainder of FY 2026.

February 2026 revenue tables are available on the OMES website.

As state government’s main operating fund, the GRF is the key indicator of state government’s fiscal status and the predominant funding source for the annual appropriated state budget. GRF collections are revenues that remain for the appropriated state budget after rebates, refunds and other mandatory apportionments, and after sales and use taxes are remitted back to municipalities. In contrast, gross collections, reported by the state treasurer, are all revenues remitted to the Oklahoma Tax Commission.
