OKLAHOMA CITY - The Office of Management and Enterprise Services has released a report on the calculations of averted costs to the State of Oklahoma from the implementation of State Question 781 which was passed by the state's citizens in November of 2016, along with State Question 780, more commonly known as the "Oklahoma Smart Justice Reform Act."
In accordance with 57 O.S. § 632, which requires these calculations to be performed “no later than July 31 of the year following the effective date of [SQ 781], and no later than July 31 every year thereafter," OMES analyzed data provided by the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, the District Attorney's Council, the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Oklahoma and Tulsa County Jails for the calculation.
