Congratulations to the Office of Management and Enterprise Services web team manager, Justin Devero, who was recently recognized as the 2024 Technology Champion by the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) for his role in the State of Oklahoma’s digital modernization journey.

This award honors state government employees who promote best practices, adopt new technologies and improve service delivery.

With Devero’s leadership, the state introduced a revamped website, Oklahoma.gov, that functions as a centralized online destination for citizens to access all government services. Users can easily fulfill their essential requirements, such as housing and financial aid, as well as handle daily tasks like obtaining a digital driver's license or a fishing permit.

This unified platform aids the state in providing tailored and standardized digital experiences that prioritize the needs of the citizens, aligning with their expectations in this digital-first era.

“I see this as not an individual award, but a state and team award,” Devero said. “To do this, we had to have support and leadership who pushed us to Get Stuff Done. We call it GSD and that continues to be our motto.”

He was at the forefront of the initiative to transfer more than 90 state agency websites and over 30,000 webpages to the Oklahoma.gov platform, enabling unified web content management for both desktop and mobile devices.

“Justin Devero has been instrumental in ensuring that Oklahoma’s citizens have quick and efficient access to our digital services,” said Joe McIntosh, state CIO. “His commitment to delivering trusted and streamlined services has been pivotal in transforming how the state interacts with its citizens.”

Devero dedicated this award to his late father, who taught him that a life dedicated to public service is truly rewarding.
