Internal training team helps OMES employees find their voices

Friday, August 20, 2021

The Office of Management and Enterprise Services' internal training team, the Organizational and Employee Development Partners, has implemented "5 Voices" training agencywide! Over the past month, OEDP has helped those in our agency discover their natural leadership voices and teamwork strategies to welcome all ideas and perspectives. Trainings like this provide OMES staff with quality tools to improve themselves, strengthen their teams and drive positive culture within our agency, which in turn leads to better services for Oklahomans.

As OMES continues to roll out this course, employees helped us celebrate our one-month milestone. Check out these encouraging responses:

Can't wait for Part 2!
I went in thinking, "Oh goodness, another useless 'class' we have to attend while our work piles up waiting for us to be done." But I was really impressed and enjoyed the session.

Best course yet!
This is one of the best OMES/OEDP courses I've been through!

Comfort in the content.
Informative, concise, useful, and the presentation was engaging and comfortable.

About the 5 Voices

Everyone has a leadership voice, whether they know it or not. From the quietest to the most gregarious, we all have the ability to lead others. Most people don’t know their leadership voice or how to use it. Some don’t know what it is, others are insecure in their voice and have been told it is unimportant, and others immaturely overuse their voice and dominate the airwaves.

The information in "5 Voices" is designed to help every individual discover their leadership voice and be empowered to use it effectively. We believe teams and whole organizations can be transformed when everyone operates securely in their own voice and learns to value the voices of others.
