Welcome to OMES
Welcome to OMES is the biweekly, in-person onboarding program for new OMES employees. It provides new OMES training and learning, in partnership with OMES Human Resources, offering a comprehensive introduction to our organization and the foundation for a successful career. OMES' onboarding schedule aligns with the statewide biweekly payroll. The intention of Welcome to OMES is to help new employees, on day one, prepare for their most successful day two.
Throughout the day, new employees learn about our organization's history, mission, values and strategic vision, and gain an understanding of our divisions, organizational structure and leadership team.
The program also covers essential human resources information:
- Employee policies.
- Benefits.
- Workplace expectations.
- Available employee resources.
In addition to these foundational topics, a dedicated portion of the experience with the OMES Training and Learning team focuses on:
- Personal and professional growth through self-awareness.
- Exceptional customer service.
- The importance of making a meaningful impact in every role.
By combining organizational knowledge with opportunities for reflection and skill development, the onboarding program equips employees with the information, connections and mindset needed to contribute confidently and successfully from day one.
Race to 100%
OMES internal training is responsible for tracking and maintaining OMES supervisory credits. Our goal is for 100% of OMES supervisors to meet 100% of their Mandatory Supervisor Training requirement. A little friendly competition among OMES Divisions – winners of this annual race will receive the new Mandatory Mustang Trophy for their speed in completing 100% of their mandatory supervisor training credits.
