Shawna Ranells

Shawna Ranells was born in San Antonio, Texas, and comes from a proud military family. At approximately ten years old, her family relocated to Oklahoma, where she was raised and later attended Lexington High School. She graduated in 2002, actively participating in athletics and extracurricular activities, including softball, wrestling management, and baseball management. During her senior year, she was honored as Homecoming Queen.

Shawna continued her education at East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science and a minor in Education. She was recognized for her academic achievement as a member of the Dean’s Honor Roll.

In 2015, Shawna began her career with the Oklahoma Department of Corrections, seeking a stable and meaningful profession following changes in the oilfield industry. Throughout her tenure, she has held a variety of roles that have provided her with broad experience and com-prehensive knowledge of the corrections system. These positions include Records Officer, Secretary to both the Chief of Security and Deputy Warden, Warden’s Assistant, Background Investigator, Case Management, and her current role as an Officer with Probation and Parole.

Shawna finds purpose in her work through assisting individuals in achieving sobriety and working toward successful reintegration into the community, with the goal of reducing recidivism.

She is married and the mother of four children, including two biological daughters, ages 11 and 15, and two stepchildren who are now adults, married, and parents to one son each. Shawna and her family reside in Asher, Oklahoma, where they enjoy small-town, country living and share a passion for deer hunting.
