Child Abuse Training and Coordination Council
The Child Abuse Training and Coordination Council, appointed by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth, consists of 22 members representing a broad spectrum of state and professional organizations, all with expertise in child abuse dynamics, identification, and treatment.
The Council's core mission is to establish training criteria and guidelines for professionals involved in child welfare and to review and recommend high-quality curricula for these trainings. Additionally, it collaborates with professional groups to develop ongoing training, advises local multidisciplinary teams, and issues protocols for investigating and prosecuting cases of child abuse and neglect.
Each year, the Council reports on team operations, approves active teams, and recommends improvements to the State Commissioner of Health and related agencies.
