The mission of the State Board of Behavioral Health Licensure is to protect the public by promoting and enforcing laws and regulations which govern the practice of Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Marital and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Licensed Behavioral Practitioners (LBP).


Please be advised that the staff of the Board may guide you to resources to locate the Board's Rules and/or Statutes and provide general guidance. However, the Board's staff cannot provide legal advice or interpretations of the Board's Rules and/or Statutes.

The Counseling Compact Executive Committee has approved Draft Rules to be posted for public comment.  The public comment period begins June 18, 2024, and ends on August 11, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. MT.  The draft rules and information on how to provide public comment are found on the Counseling Compact website at
