Licensed Professional Counselor:
In order to qualify to become an LPC approved supervisor you must complete the following:
You must be an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) by the National Board for Certified Counselors familiar with Oklahoma LPC Act and Rules duly promulgated
-or-
You must be a Licensed Professional Counselor who has practiced counseling for two (2) years beyond the issue date of the Oklahoma license. You must have successfully completed a graduate course in counseling supervision from a regionally accredited university of at least forty-five (45) hours -or- successfully completed a Board approved supervision equivalent course. You must have passed the Oklahoma Legal and Ethical Responsibilities Examination (OLERE).
You must submit an agreement to be “on call” to the supervisee on a twenty-four (24) hour basis and arrange for an alternate supervisor if you become unavailable.
Licensed Marital and Family Therapist:
In order to qualify to become an LMFT approved supervisor you must complete the following:
You must be an American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy approved supervisor who is familiar with the Oklahoma LMFT Rules and Regulations.
-or-
You must be a Licensed Marital and Family Therapist who has practiced counseling for two (2) years beyond the issue date of the license. You must have successfully completed a graduate course in therapist supervision from a regionally accredited university of at least forty-five (45) hours -or- successfully completed a Board approved supervision equivalent course.
Licensed Behavioral Practitioner:
In order to qualify to become an LBP approved supervisor you must complete the following:
1. You must be a Licensed Behavioral Practitioner, Professional Counselor, Marital and Family Therapist, Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker or a Physician licensed by Oklahoma.
2. You must have practiced in positions similar to those that the LBP applicant proposes to practice for two (2) years passed the issue date of your relevant license.
3. You must have passed the LBP State Standards Test.
4. You must complete ten (10) hours of TAMP approved continuing education.
5. You must submit a letter to the Board agreeing to be “on call” to the supervisee on a twenty-four (24) hour basis and arrange for an alternate supervisor if you become unavailable. Also, your letter must state you agree to learn and teach the LBP Act and Regulations to the supervisee.
