The Mason Treat Act and New Temporary License Plates

The Mason Treat Act is now in effect::
- Modifying procedures for motor vehicle registration and temporary license plates upon vehicle transfer
- Enhancing transparency, accountability, and public safety
- Will make changes to temporary license plates
- Creates a new pre-registration process and a registration platform for Authorized Temporary License Plate Vendors
The Mason Treat Act is a new law named after Senate Pro Tempore Greg Treat’s son, Mason, who was critically injured in January 2024 during a routine traffic stop.
