Ray Recognized by Governor and Commission for Service

At its meeting on Wednesday, July 14, the Oklahoma Aeronautics Commission recognized former District 3 Commissioner Michael Ray, for his years of service to the commission from January 7, 2011 through December 28, 2020.

Ray was first appointed to the commission by Gov. Brad Henry in 2011 and was reappointed by Gov. Mary Fallin.  He served one term as chairman of the commission.

Ray is the owner and managing partner of 5R Companies, a diverse agriculture business enterprise involved in livestock production, farming and manufacturing in multiple locations throughout the Midwest. He also serves as president of the Oklahoma School Board Association, is a member of the Guymon School board, chairman of the board for Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions in St. Peters, Minn., and a member of numerous industry organizations.

Actively involved in aviation through ownership of Cowboy Aviation, he is a pilot and currently flies a Turbine Bonanza A36 and is type rated for a Cessna 425.
