Airports

Empowered and directed to encourage, foster, and assist in the development of aviation and aerospace in the state and to encourage the establishment of airports and air navigation facilities, one of the Commission’s primary duties is to support Oklahoma’s airport system comprising 108 publicly-owned airports. The Commission accomplishes this by investing in the five-year airport construction program, completing routine safety and standards inspections, conducting pavement inspections, helping airports with long-term planning and strategy, and assisting airports with hosting celebrations and fly-ins
