Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics Names Laura Rudicel Director of Communications and Marketing

(OKLAHOMA CITY) — The Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics (ODAA) has named Laura Rudicel as its new Director of Communications and Marketing. An award-winning communications strategist, Rudicel brings extensive experience leading high-profile brand, media, and public engagement initiatives across Oklahoma.

Rudicel joins ODAA from OKANA Resort & Indoor Waterpark, where she served as Director of Marketing and helped lead communications strategies surrounding the resort’s opening, securing national media coverage and helping establish OKANA as a premier tourism destination.

Rudicel will oversee strategic marketing and communications, media relations, digital platforms, and public engagement efforts supporting Oklahoma’s growing aerospace and defense industry.

“Laura brings a dynamic blend of vision, storytelling, and leadership that will elevate ODAA’s brand and amplify Oklahoma’s presence on a national and global stage,” said ODAA Executive Director Grayson Ardies. “Her expertise makes her an outstanding addition as Oklahoma continues strengthening its position in the aerospace ecosystem.”

Prior to OKANA, Rudicel served as Director of Marketing & Communications at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, where she led award-winning campaigns that drove record engagement and attendance. Her background also includes leadership roles at Conner & Winters, Saxum, and the Oklahoma City-County Health Department. She began her career as a broadcast journalist.

“I’m honored to join the Oklahoma Department of Aerospace and Aeronautics at such an exciting time for the industry,” said Rudicel. “Oklahoma has incredible momentum in aerospace, defense, and space, and I look forward to helping tell the story of the innovation driving the industry forward across our state.”

Rudicel earned a Bachelor of Arts in Film and Media Studies from Emory University. She serves on the board of March of Dimes Oklahoma and is active in many Oklahoma City civic and professional organizations.
